Type: 2D shooter
Players: 1
Peripherals: None supported

Major Damage was developed by the US division of Capcom. In the game you control Major Damage himself or
his sidekick (Carnage), shooting your way through 16 action packed levels. Various power-ups can be picked up
along the way, such as med-kits, missiles and rapid fire. Major Damage can aim in all directions (much like Metal
Slug
) and can perform the art of rocket jumping. It is been said later stages included vehicles for the player to enter.

All the game's characters and most of the background detail were created with Silicon Graphics workstations,
which give the game a typical mid-nineties look. Most of the backgrounds are interactive in one way or another.
Major Damage can negotiate drain pipes and overhanging platforms like a monkey bar while still being able to shoot
around. Other elements include stairs (the collision detection of them is patchy) and spiked balls which need to be
shot.

This version (dated June 14, 1996), contains the first stage (Crime City) which consists of three levels. After
completing them (which shouldn't be hard, you can't die in this version), you'll be kicked back to the main menu.
The game doesn't create any save files on your harddisk, even if you completed the first stage. One of the more
amusing tricks that can be performed is a disc swap at the main menu or options screen. You can open your disc
drive without trouble (you won't be kicked back to the audio screen!) and listen to the CD tracks.

Major Damage probably was the victim of Capcom of Japan's decision to cancel all US developments in
late 1996 / early 1997. This decision also killed C.O.A's other projects; Fox Hunt and Werewolf: The Apocalypse.
